Spring opener Blows off Rust United's spring opener put jumpers
back into the air, blowing off the rust so heavily that sometimes
the sky became dark. Roger Ponce organized some skydives, one of which was a six point eighteen way. When the sun set an
excellent reggae band put jumpers in a mellow mood. The pigroast was succulent and the bonfire warmed jumpers against
the chilly spring evening.Otter Picks Wrong Airport
Jumpers were getting worried by 11 am on Saturday when the otter had still not arrived. "It was coming up from Florida," said an
unidentified jumper. "Then we saw it coming toward the dz and everybody cheered. Next, they sort of got quiet when the otter
kept flying right past the runway. He kept on going and going and then he made a turn and started an approach about two miles
northeast of us. He actually landed at Lou Farrels place, which is a lot smaller runway than ours. Was that the first time an
otter ever landed at your house, Lou. You owe a case of beer."

JP Grows Hair
Forsaking the smooth, polished look, JP has grown a
headfull of hair and a rustic beard to go with it. He
credited his wife, Nancy for making it happen. Said Nancy, "Jim has a head like a chia pet. I just watered it daily and gave it
some sunlight."
New dz is old dz for Buss
Jeff Buss broke his cherry at
Flying M, also known as Germansville. "This was back in the mid 70s," says Jeff. "We had 4 28ft 7tu's,4 reserves, and a C_182.
Probably one of the prettiest DZ's ever, right south of the Appalachian trail,,lotsa trees and fresh air. The northeast pa
turnpike tunnel goes thru the Blue Mountain a mile or so west of the "flying M ranch",,,formerly owned by the Marquardt
family, hence the "M". If you are up this way, look for a "peak" on the mountains north of Allentown (25miles) and thats where
the airport is ( on the south side ). It's called Bake Oven Knob, big stone outcropping about 800 ft higher than the airport. Great hike to lookdown on the airport aand see canopies from
above ( got a lot of students that way)."

| 35Echo Bites Dust
The club Cessna 35 Echo sustained major damage recently when a new pilot was being checked out. "It
wasn't even in the air," said an observer. "The new guy was
taxiing around and I'm not sure exactly what he did to cause it,
but the nose went down in the dirt. It bent the prop, stopped
the engine and damaged the wing." Obviously this guy did not pass his check out. Brian Pregnant
Rumor has it that Brian is pregnant. "I told her not to get on top," he complained. "Now
